Train Tunnel

Sometimes when we have a big project to accomplish, we can get stalled by feeling overwhelmed. Here is a suggested remedy…

Picture yourself at a train tunnel that you need to go through. But it is clogged by debris, obstacles that need to be removed.  Looking around you see some big open dumpsters beside the tracks.  As you begin, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel, even as you notice how dark, smelly and congested the tunnel is. You can hear rats and see other crawling critters on the walls. Even so, you begin to move the debris out to the dumpsters.

About half way through, you feel overwhelmed, tired and discouraged with how hard the project is.  When you do, stop and look back at what you have accomplished. The tunnel behind you is open, clean, uncluttered and finished. The tracks are cleared.  You have been making progress.

Then,  turn back to finish with renewed vigor.

When all is done, look back and see that you have cleared the way for a new train to travel through the tunnel.  Success.
